Ubuntu 24.10 slibuje novou funkci nazvanou „permissions prompting“ pro další úroveň soukromí a zabezpečení. Debian zvažuje agresivnější mazání starých balíčků. Tým UBports oznámil řadu aktualizací operačního systému a aplikací.

Ubuntu 24.10 představí novou funkci

Připravovaný operační systém Ubuntu 24.10 slibuje novou funkci nazvanou „permissions prompting“ pro další úroveň soukromí a zabezpečení. Nová funkce umožní uživatelům kontrolovat, spravovat a chápat chování aplikací spuštěných na jejich počítačích.Využívá implementaci Ubuntu AppArmor a umožňuje jemné řízení přístupu k nemodifikovaným binárním souborům bez nutnosti měnit zdrojový kód aplikace.

Zprostředkování oprávnění se dočká počáteční (tzv. experimentální) implementace zaměřené na oprávnění domácího rozhraní v nadcházejícím vydání Ubuntu 24.10 (Oracular Oriole), které má vyjít 10. října 2024, a bylo vyvíjeno týmy snapd, zabezpečení a desktopu společnosti Canonical po dobu několika let. Nová funkce se skládá ze dvou nových balíčků, a to grafického nástroje s názvem Security Center a nástroje příkazového řádku s názvem prompting-client.

Debian chce změnit přístup ke starým balíčkům

Vedoucí projektu Debian Andreas Tille se v tomto měsíci ve zpravodaji Bits from the DPL věnoval ořezávání starých balíčků, které již nejsou udržovány nebo už nejsou užitečné. Helmut Grohne se vyslovil pro agresivnější odstraňování balíčků a hledal konsensus o dalším postupu. Uvedl šest příkladů procesů, kde balíčky, které jsou kandidáty na odstranění, spotřebovávají cennou lidskou sílu.Vývojáři Debianu se také často setkávají s dlouhodobě neudržovanými balíky, jejichž hlasy v popconu někdy dosahují nuly a často jsou menší než deset.

Helmutův e-mail obsahoval seznam balíčků, které by splňovaly navrhovaná kritéria pro odstranění. Proběhla diskuse o tom, zda by do těchto kritérií mělo být zahrnuto i hlasování popconu, přičemž zazněly argumenty pro i proti. Ačkoli jsem pro zahrnutí popconu, uznávám, že Helmut má oprávněný názor, když navrhuje jeho vynechání.

UBports představil nové aplikace

Tým UBports oznámil řadu aktualizací operačního systému a aplikací svého projektu. K dispozici je nová aplikace k testování. Je určena pro práci s časovými výkazy Odoo. Je v rané fázi a její směr a podoba se bude řídit zpětnou vazbou od prvních uživatelů. Vyvíjí ji společnost Synconics Technologies, která spolupracuje s UBports. Další novou aplikací je Browser Leak, opět od Lucstay11. Jeho aplikace má za úkol zobrazit veškeré otisky prstů vašeho telefonu.

Aplikace ukáže všechny slabiny, ale pro ochranu samozřejmě používejte kvalitní VPN. Sturm Reader byl aktualizován. Jednalo se o jednu z prvních a nejlepších aplikací na UT, která umožňuje číst knihy ve formátu ePub, komiksy, soubory PDF atd. K dispozici je také nová aplikace Amazfish, která komunikuje s chytrými hodinkami.

Společnost Juno Computers oznámila svůj nejnovější tablet Juno Tab 3 s úhlopříčkou 12,1 palce, procesorem Intel N100 a 12 GB RAM. Tablet má také odnímatelnou klávesnici, takže z něj můžete udělat přenosné centrum produktivity na cestách. Kromě toho nabízí také slot pro MicroSD kartu, výstup Micro HDMI, dvakrát USB-C, 3,5 mm audio jack, 2 MP přední fotoaparát 3,7 MP, zadní fotoaparát a baterii s kapacitou 5000 mAh.

Je možné jej zakoupit s předinstalovaným Ubuntu 24.04 LTS nebo s výběrem z jiných linuxových distribucí. Co trochu zkazí náladu je cenovka, která začíná na 699 amerických dolarech (15 800 českých korun).

Nově vydáno

GhostBSD, desktopově orientovaný operační systém založený na FreeBSD s grafickým prostředím MATE vyšel ve verzi 24.07.1. Vyšel rlxos 2.0, nové vydání nezávislé linuxové distribuce, která běží na neměnném souborovém systému a obsahuje pracovní prostředí Xfce. Vývojáři Q4OS, desktopové distribuce postavené na Debianu oznámili nové vydání s číslem 5.6. DynFi, platforma firewallu založená na systému FreeBSD je k dispozici ve verzi 4.01.
