Amazon pracuje na vlastním linuxovém operačním systému, který by měl nahradit Fire OS postavený na Androidu. Po několika odkladech vyšla Fedora 39. Tuxedo přichází s třetí generací linuxového notebooku Pulse 14.

Amazon pracuje na vytvoření vlastního operačního systému založeného na Linuxu, který by nahradil Android na televizích Fire TV, chytrých displejích a dalších zařízeních. Amazon vyrábí řadu zařízení, včetně chytrých televizí, displejů a reproduktorů. Tyto běží na Fire OS, odvozeném od Androidu založeného na Android Open Source Project.

Cílem je postupně se oprostit od závislosti na Androidu pro všechna nová zařízení. Nový operačním systém s krycím názvem „Vega“ by měl vycházet z Linuxu, zatím však ještě není známo, pod jakou licencí bude vyvíjen.

Po několika odkladech vyšel Fedora Linux 39 jako nejnovější stabilní verze této linuxové distribuce sponzorované společností Red Hat. Poháněna jádrem Linux 6.5 přichází s některými z nejnovějších desktopových prostředí včetně GNOME 45, KDE Plasma 5.27 LTS, Cinnamon 5.8 a Budgie 10.8.

Pod kapotou je aktualizovaný soubor nástrojů GNU zahrnující GCC 13.2, GNU Binutils 2.40, GNU C Library (Glibc) 2.38 a GDB (GNU Debugger) 13.2, stejně jako aktualizované výchozí aplikace, včetně nejnovější řady kancelářského balíku LibreOffice 7.6 a webového prohlížeče Mozilla Firefox 119.

Ubuntu Touch 20.04 OTA-3

Nadace UBports Foundation oznámila vydání Ubuntu Touch 20.04 OTA-3, nejnovější stabilní verze tohoto mobilního operačního systému založeného na Ubuntu, určeného pro chytré telefony a tablety. Přicházející více než tři měsíce po Ubuntu Touch OTA-2 a je třetí stabilní aktualizací založenou na Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa).

Mezi nově podporovaná zařízení přibyly telefony PinePhone a PinePhone Pro a tablet PineTab. Ubuntu Touch OTA-3 také zavádí podporu pro Snap, implementuje schopnost vyhledávat ve společných konverzacích v aplikaci Messaging, obnovuje schopnost zakázat vibrace a zlepšuje podporu Waydroidu.

Tuxedo Pulse 14 Gen3

Tuxedo Pulse 14 patří mezi nejlehčí linuxové výkonové notebooky od společnosti Tuxedo Computers, a model Gen3 je poháněn 4nm procesory AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS s 8 jádry, 16 vlákny, 24 MB cache (L2+L3), 54 W TDP a až 5,1 GHz taktovací frekvencí.

Dále obsahuje integrovaný grafický čip AMD Radeon 780M s 12 jádry a taktovací frekvencí až 2,7 GHz. Tuxedo Pulse 14 je dodáván s předinstalovaným operačním systémem Tuxedo nebo s Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Jeho cena začíná na 1111 eurech (27 tisíc korun).

Vyšel Garuda Linux 231029, nové vydání na Arch Linuxu postavené průběžně aktualizované distribuce.Na Debianu a Kali Linuxu postavené distribuce Gnoppix vyšla ve verzi 23.11. Tvůrci brazilské distribuce BigLinux oznámili vydání s číslem 2023–11–03. Arch Linux, nezávislá distribuce optimalizovaná pro architekturu x86_64 je k dispozici ve verzi 2023.11.01.
